Friday 26th October 2018

Friday was a quiet day where we all did some catching up, myself on the blog, Paivi on her Spanish lessons and general tidying up.

After breakfast and a morning spent on chores, we went out in the afternoon to walk along the sea shore in the opposite direction from Sabanilles towards a nature reserve further along the coast.

The nature reserve is an expanse of beach and foreshore which is restricted fro development and contains many plants including some amaryllis which, when blooming will be spectacular.

Inland from the foreshore, there are the endless developments of apartments and small townhouses, some with pools and small gardens and some, the more expensive ones with larger grounds and gardens.

The path along the nature reserve is well-used by walkers and cyclists.

A little offshore there is a rock which is the resting place of cormorants who dry themselves after fishing expeditions.

Cormorant Rock.
After walking some way, we retraced our steps and stopped off at a small bar where we enjoyed shandies and some nuts and olives.

Then it was back to the car which was parked in a small cul-de-sac. The last house in this small area was the site of a noisy wedding party which was celebrating on the rooftop.

Then it was back home to dinner of the excellent chicken dish which Bill had prepared a day or so ago and stored in the freezer.

Then it was a relatively early night to prepare for our trip to Malaga in the morning.
